Ahn Min-seok, Provincial Superintendent, Says "I Will Develop Field Experience Policies That Don't Burden Teachers"

Ahn Min-seok, Superintendent of Education for Gyeonggi Province, held town hall meetings at the "Visiting Superintendent's Office" in Pyeongtaek and Anseong on the 26th, exchanging opinions with parents about regional educational issues and practical problems in school settings.
Issues regarding field experience learning were commonly raised in both Pyeongtaek and Anseong areas. Concerns were raised that responsibility for accidents during field experience activities is concentrated on teachers.
In response, Superintendent Ahn Min-seok stated, "Under the current system, responsibility for accidents occurring during field experience activities is concentrated on teachers, causing schools to avoid field experience activities," and emphasized, "Institutional improvements are absolutely necessary so that teachers can operate field experience activities without bearing the burden of accidents."
He continued, "In some regions, education support offices directly handle the selection and contracting of field experience venues, and support having safety instructors accompany field experience activities. Taking these cases into consideration, Gyeonggi Province Office of Education will support the revitalization of field experience activities in schools starting next year," he announced.
Kim Yun-ki, Superintendent of Pyeongtaek Education Support Office, stated that he is promoting the establishment of new schools to resolve overcrowded classrooms, and plans to support student commute shuttle buses called "Dream Taxi GO" in cooperation with Pyeongtaek City to resolve long-distance commuting issues.
Kim Beom-jin, Superintendent of Anseong Education Support Office, explained improvement measures for long-distance commuting and implementation plans and preparation status for supporting school field experience activities.
