Subway Line 7's Jangam Station, which had been closed for a month to make way for broad-area railway construction connecting Dobongsan and Okjeong, will now be available from the first train on the 31st.

The free shuttle bus service between Dobongsan and Jangam stations, which operated during the month-long closure of Jangam Station beginning October 2nd, will end service on the 30th.

Gyeonggi Province conducted joint inspections of facilities in 172 items across 13 fields including architecture, track, safety, and signal and communications with related organizations including Seoul Metro Company in preparation for Jangam Station's opening.

Subsequently, on October 28th, Gyeonggi Province received approval for changes to the railway safety management system from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, completing all necessary procedures for temporary Jangam Station operations.

This temporary opening of Jangam Station is a measure for constructing a new Jangam Station connected to the Dobongsan-Okjeong broad-area railway. The province has made this arrangement to continue Subway Line 7 operations while demolishing the existing Jangam Station and constructing a new station building.

Park Young-shin, head of Gyeonggi Province's Railway Construction Division, stated, "Even after the temporary Jangam Station opens, we will continuously monitor user safety and inconveniences, respond comprehensively on-site, and make our best efforts to ensure the main line construction proceeds without delay."

The Dobongsan-Okjeong broad-area railway is a single-line light rail project connecting 15.1 kilometers from Dobongsan Station in Seoul through Jangam Station and Tapseok Station in Uijeongbu City to Goyeop District in Yangju City.
