Kwak Young-bung, president of the Suwon Baseball & Softball Association running in the Suwon Sports Council chairman election, has pledged administrative support for sports organizations, sports council reorganization, and improvements to player support standards.

During a press conference held on the 29th at the association's office inside Suwon Sports Complex, Chairman Kwak pointed out operational challenges for sports organizations and personnel shortages at the sports council, presenting detailed improvement measures.

He stated that only around 10 sports organizations have administrative staff, explaining that executive directors are handling not only competition preparations but also administrative tasks such as writing business plans and financial settlements. He also pointed out difficulties in operations caused by budget cuts or insufficient dedicated staff during competition preparation processes.

As a solution, he proposed securing professional administrative support personnel within the sports council and dispatching administrative and accounting staff to sports organizations. He also announced plans to increase the monthly activity allowance for executive directors of sports organizations from 100,000 won to 300,000 won.

He said he will also pursue internal reorganization within the sports council. Chairman Kwak announced plans to establish 2 new director positions in charge of administration and facilities in the current structure, which has 1 senior manager position. The plan is to expand promotion pathways for staff members and secure necessary budgets for new personnel recruitment in coordination with Suwon City.

In the field of player development, he raised concerns about excellent players moving to other regions due to budget and school sports program shortages. He promised to establish a development system connecting school sports, youth, elite athletes, and workplace sports clubs to expand the foundation for local athletes' activities.

He also identified player meal allowances and competition participation vehicle support standards as targets for improvement. Chairman Kwak stated that he will adjust standards that do not match field conditions through consultation with relevant agencies.

Chairman Kwak said, "I will build a development system connecting school sports, youth, elite athletes, and workplace sports clubs so that players who grow up in the region can settle in Suwon."
