Uiwang City (Mayor Kim Sung-je) held the 'Mayor of Uiwang's Disability Harmony Sports Family Health Walking Competition' with people with and without disabilities coming together on the 30th at the Baekun Lake lawn plaza.
Approximately 500 participants, including officials from disability sports associations and federations, people with disabilities, and guardians from within the city, participated in the event, enjoying the perimeter trail course while admiring the beautiful natural scenery of Baekun Lake.
In particular, the Uiwang City Disability Sports Association operated separate mobility courses for wheelchair users and made careful efforts to create a participation environment that considered different types of disabilities and mobility conditions, ensuring that everyone could participate comfortably.
Kim Sung-je, Mayor of Uiwang City and President of the Uiwang City Disability Sports Association, said, "Today's competition was a meaningful occasion where people with and without disabilities understand and communicate with each other and come together harmoniously," adding, "We will continue to make greater efforts to create a happy Uiwang City for people with disabilities."
Hosted by the Uiwang City Disability Sports Association, this competition provided an opportunity for people with and without disabilities to enjoy walking exercise together, promote health, and communicate and unite with one another.
