Kwon Hyuk-woo, Standing Director of Basic Society Suwon Headquarters, Holds Book Launch Event

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Lee Min-jung] Kwon Hyuk-woo, Standing Director of Basic Society Suwon Headquarters (Vice Chair of Strategy and Planning Committee of the Democratic Party), will hold a book launch event for his autobiographical essay 'The Great Bird Flies Against the Wind' on January 17 at 2 PM at the Convention Hall on the 3rd floor of Suwon Convention Center (Youngtong-gu, Suwon Special City), meeting directly with citizens and presenting his future vision.

Director Kwon stated through the book launch event that "the book contains my life itself from childhood and school days through work and entrepreneurship to challenges in manufacturing, as well as consciousness of issues in preparing Suwon's present and future."

'The Great Bird Flies Against the Wind' includes Director Kwon's childhood in Gyewon Yulrim, Seolseong-myeon, Icheon City, his study abroad experience at Suwon Sungkyung High School in Suwon Special City, his time at Sungkyunkwan University, and his experience as Vice Student Council President, described with philosophical reflection and honesty.

He further stated that "the difficulties I faced while working and challenging manufacturing to support my family's livelihood, my reflection and agony—remaining undaunted even in such difficult circumstances and living wholeheartedly with confidence thinking only of the future—are faithfully contained in this book."

In particular, he emphasized that "my life with my first love, my wife; the principles and political philosophy learned from my father who lived as a politician and educator, and my father-in-law; and the responsibility I felt as a father of three children—all of these have led to a sense of duty and responsibility toward citizens."

Director Kwon further expressed that "I have now decided to roll up my sleeves to fulfill my role as a dedicated servant for Suwon Special City and the community, devoting my very life itself."
