Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon, who attended the '2nd Carbon Neutrality Festival' held on the 11th at the upper space of Gosaeok Station, said, "Carbon neutrality is a promise fulfilled through the participation and action of all of us."

The 2nd Carbon Neutrality Festival, held under the theme 'Reduce Carbon, Increase Participation,' was conducted through various citizen participation programs including family quiz shows, experience and promotion booths, flea markets, and performances, enabling citizens to experience and practice carbon neutrality in an easy and enjoyable manner.

At the event, Mayor Lee stated, "Carbon neutrality is not a distant future topic but a promise we must practice now to protect the lives of our children and ourselves," adding, "True change can begin when individual citizens' actions are added to carbon neutrality policies."

The event featured programs with carbon neutrality themes such as 'Practice It, Watch It, Reuse It, and Play It,' providing citizens with hands-on experiences of eco-friendly lifestyles. Suwon City presented commendations to five exemplary carbon neutrality practitioners (members of citizen action groups and local residents).

A 'Carbon Neutral Suwon!' performance was also held with participating attendees and youth representatives. Using umbrellas made from recycled used banners, they collectively completed the message 'C-A-R-B-O-N N-E-U-T-R-A-L S-U-W-O-N,' reaffirming their commitment to resource circulation and carbon neutrality practice.

Suwon City plans to operate various citizen-led and participatory carbon neutrality programs to spread a culture of practice in daily life and work together with citizens to create a 'Carbon Neutral Green City Suwon.'
