Gwacheon City and the Green Gwacheon Environment Center will hold the Gwacheon Environment Festival on October 27 and November 7 under the theme "Climate Action Together, Sustainable Gwacheon," where citizens can see, hear, and experience environmental initiatives.

On October 27, a "Carbon Neutrality Sharing Day" will be held at the Gwacheon Citizens' Hall Small Theater. Through a Carbon Zero Apartment Competition, excellent apartments that have practiced carbon neutrality through energy conservation will be recognized, and citizens, public institutions, and businesses will discuss carbon neutrality implementation cases and achievements pursued so far.

A special lecture by Professor Choi Young-jun from Yonsei University on climate crisis and carbon neutrality, as well as a talk concert by Lee Jung-mo, former director of the National Gwacheon Science Museum and science communicator, will also be featured. Through expert lectures and conversations, it is expected to provide an opportunity to better understand climate crisis and carbon neutrality and reflect on the necessity of climate action in daily life.

On Saturday, November 7, a citizen-focused environmental festival will be held around Central Park and the Yangjaecheon area where families, friends, and neighbors can participate together, providing a valuable experience, according to the city.

Citizens will be able to directly observe trees, insects, birds, and fish living in various places around Central Park and Yangjaecheon, listen to expert explanations, and experience Gwacheon's natural environment up close.

Gwacheon Mayor Shin Gye-yong said, "We have prepared diverse programs so citizens can directly see and hear the meaning of carbon neutrality and Gwacheon's excellent natural environment, satisfying all five senses. I hope this becomes a meaningful time where families, friends, and neighbors visit the festival together to enjoy Gwacheon's nature and feel the importance of the environment."
