Lee Hyun-jae, People Power Party Candidate for Hanam Mayor, Announces Four Core Strategies to Establish Foundation for a Self-Sufficient City of 500,000

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Lee Hyun-jae, People Power Party candidate for Hanam mayor, held a press conference on the 1st and said, "June 3rd is an election that will determine whether Hanam develops into a first-rate city or regresses," and appealed, "Please definitely go to the voting booth and choose the right person for Hanam's development."

Candidate Lee said, "I am sorry for causing relative deprivation despite making many efforts for Yurye and Gamil residents," and started the conference with his position on Yurye and Gamil, saying, "I will take more careful measures so that residents of Yurye and Gamil do not feel left out."

He then announced four core strategies to establish the foundation for a self-sufficient city of 500,000 over the next four years.

Candidate Lee pledged to △usher in an era of 10 trillion won in foreign investment by 2030 △complete the five subway line era and resolve commute traffic inconvenience △achieve 1,000 admissions to major universities by 2030 △create Hanam as the best welfare city in the metropolitan area.

In particular, he presented realistic and specific pledges including △a 'reserved seating system' for metropolitan buses connecting Hanam and Gangnam to minimize commute inconvenience, and deployment of chartered buses △first child childbirth incentive of 2 million won (including ETF stock account provision) △up to 300,000 won for senior citizens' transportation subsidies △annual 240,000 won in youth transportation subsidies (ages 19-23).

Meanwhile, former Chair Kim Jong-in attended the press conference and said, "I have maintained a 50-year connection with Mayor Lee Hyun-jae since his time at the Prime Minister's Office, and in this election, the election for a municipal chief is not about choosing a politician, but about choosing someone who cares for the daily convenience of Hanam citizens," and added, "I believe that Mayor Lee Hyun-jae's election will enhance the living standards and value of Hanam residents."

He then urged, "Please go to the voting booth on the 3rd and definitely elect candidate Lee Hyun-jae, who knows Hanam best and can lead it forward."

Furthermore, he said, "Can a candidate who only emphasizes the Democratic Party united front without policy and vision, or a candidate who uses negative campaigning in the final stages of the election to make citizens frown, accomplish Hanam's development?" and stressed, "We cannot entrust Hanam's golden time to an amateur beginner."
