Gwangmyeong City (Mayor Park Seung-won) is establishing a citizen health education cooperation system in collaboration with local medical organizations and healthcare institutions.

On the 21st at the city hall conference room, the city signed a memorandum of understanding for the 'Gwangmyeong City Health Education City Project' with four medical organizations—Gwangmyeong Medical Association, Dental Association, Korean Medicine Association, and Pharmaceutical Association—and two healthcare institutions, Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital and Gwangmyeong Sunghae Hospital.

This agreement was pursued to provide more specialized health education to citizens by utilizing the region's professional medical resources and to establish a foundation for healthcare education cooperation in the community.

According to the agreement, participating organizations will pool their efforts in △operating health education and health lectures for citizens △recommending and supporting expert lecturers △providing specialized medical knowledge and educational materials and advising on educational content △cooperating in relevant projects to promote citizen health and wellness.

Based on the agreement, the city will operate a total of four health lectures, at least one per region, targeting Gwangmyeong citizens from October through November.

The lectures will cover the following topics: △frailty prevention and chronic disease management for healthy aging △proper medication use and safe administration △correct oral care and gum health △health stories shared by Korean medicine doctors.

The sessions will cover health information applicable to daily life, ranging from chronic disease management such as hypertension and diabetes, prevention of drug misuse, oral care, and seasonal health management to musculoskeletal pain management.

Mayor Park Seung-won of Gwangmyeong City stated, "In collaboration with local medical institutions, we have prepared education that will help citizens manage their health in their daily lives," and added, "We will work with the community to create a healthy environment where citizens can obtain accurate health information and take care of their own health."
