Gyeonggi Province is currently recruiting participants for the Gyeonggi Pregnancy and Childbirth Classroom program, designed for first-time expecting mothers and fathers.

From March to November, the province operates various educational programs for pregnant women and their spouses residing in Gyeonggi Province, including △understanding the pregnancy and childbirth process △prenatal education and child development education △understanding prenatal and postpartum depression △forest therapy programs and more.

The program runs as a community-based educational initiative over a total of 10 sessions, including two multicultural sessions, with each session recruiting 15 couples of pregnant women and their spouses.

Currently, six sessions including the Anyang class have been completed, and three remaining sessions are scheduled for September (multicultural, Pocheon), October (Yeoncheon), and November (Bucheon), with the province now recruiting expecting mothers and fathers from these regions to participate in the program.

Those interested in participating can apply through a call to the Northern Gyeonggi Region Infertility and Pregnant Women Psychological Counseling Center at (031-961-8500~8502) or through their website (happyfamily.dumc.or.kr).

Kim Nam-su, director of the Gyeonggi Province Health Promotion Division, said, "Through the Gyeonggi Pregnancy and Childbirth Classroom program, we expect to provide first-time mothers and fathers with diverse background knowledge and experiences necessary throughout the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting processes, and to foster positive perceptions about childbirth," and added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to implement various projects targeting pregnant women, their spouses, and infertile couples to enhance residents' quality of life and promote health."
