Beyond Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi… Hwaseong Expands Vietnamese Market Presence

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) announced on the 21st that six local companies operating a group pavilion at the '2026 Vietnam Hanoi Machinery Exhibition (MTA Hanoi 2026)' held at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) in Hanoi from the 13th to the 18th achieved results of 74 export consultations and 3 memoranda of understanding (MOUs).

This exhibition, marking its 11th edition, is the largest precision machinery and manufacturing exhibition in northern Vietnam, featuring cutting tools, metal processing machinery, molds, measurement equipment, and manufacturing equipment.

Hwaseong Special City held the event as part of various export support projects including overseas exhibition support, market exploration missions, and domestic export consultation sessions to overcome the export crisis facing local small and medium-sized enterprises, which has intensified due to soaring oil prices and sharp currency fluctuations resulting from the current Middle East situation.

Do Sung-jin, representative of BrandNew Machinery who participated in the exhibition, said, "The equipment demand in the northern region, where Korean companies are concentrated, was much larger than expected," and added, "Thanks to the city's group pavilion, we were able to discuss specifications and delivery schedules in detail with buyers, and we will definitely convert this into contracts."

Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "Vietnam is a market where the industrial structure differs between the south and north, so we must pursue different strategies by region," and stated, "We will continue to support local companies to expand their sales channels throughout Vietnam by continuing the achievements built in Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi."

Based on experience accumulated over four consecutive years at the Ho Chi Minh City MTA exhibition since 2022, the city expanded its presence to Hanoi for the first time this year. The city supported booth rental and installation, exhibition goods transportation, and interpretation services. The Hwaseong City Export Support Center enhanced consultation concentration by discovering local buyers in advance.
