Breaking Down Professional Boundaries Through Senior-Junior Communication and Emotional Exchange

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) held the '2026 Hwaseong Mentoring Program Results Sharing Meeting' on the 22nd at Hotel Premier, bringing together senior and junior civil servants to share achievements and impressions from mentoring activities.
The event was attended by mentors, mentees, and senior and junior civil servants who shared the outcomes of mentoring activities. It was a time to exchange various experiences from public service life that continued from March to September.
The 'Hwaseong Mentoring Program' was established last year to facilitate stable organizational adaptation and capacity building for newly hired civil servants. Senior and new civil servants were paired as mentors and mentees to provide support in work adaptation, organizational culture understanding, resolution of challenges in public service, and life counseling.
In particular, this year the program was divided into Session 1 (March-May) and Session 2 (July-September) to expand opportunities for more newly hired civil servants. Twenty mentors and 64 mentees formed 17 groups, conducting monthly mentoring meetings and session-specific mentoring day activities.
One civil servant who participated in the Hwaseong Mentoring Program said, "Having a senior colleague I could comfortably ask about concerns I was struggling with alone was a great source of strength," and shared the sentiment that "the three months we spent together became a solid foundation for my public service career."
Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun stated, "Mentoring is a process of learning from and growing together by sharing seniors' experience and juniors' fresh perspectives," and added, "I hope this activity served as a source of confidence in public service for newly hired civil servants and an opportunity for senior civil servants to reflect on their original intentions."
