Gyeonggi Province 'Pyeonha G-Bus' Routes to be Directly Proposed by Residents

A reserved-seat bus service called Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus is currently operating during rush hours, connecting major transit hubs in Gyeonggi Province and Seoul across the Seoul metropolitan area. Recently, five new routes opened in the Pyeongtaek, Yangju, Hwaseong, and Uiwang areas and are in use by residents.
Gyeonggi Province has launched a "Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus Resident Proposal Bulletin Board" to allow residents to directly propose commuting bus routes they need. The bulletin board aims to reflect actual commuting demand from residents in the selection of new routes.
The board can be accessed through the Open Governor's Office website (https://www.gg.go.kr/governor) under "Communication and Participation," where residents can continuously propose commuting routes they need.
Regarding this, Yoon Tae-wan, director of Gyeonggi Province's Department of Transportation, stated, "We have established an ongoing communication system to continuously receive commuting route proposals that residents actually need and reflect them in our policies. We will carefully review the feasibility and urgency of routes proposed by residents, focusing on areas with concentrated commuting demand, and will expand the Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus service in phases."
Proposals are made on a one-per-person basis. In cases where existing proposals need to be changed due to moving or job changes, residents can modify the content under "My Proposal-Edit."
Received route proposals are regularly delivered to the relevant municipal and county governments for use in reviewing new routes. However, proposed routes are not immediately implemented. New routes are selected after going through route feasibility reviews, business plan establishment, demand surveys, budget securing, and consultation with related local government agencies.
When selecting new routes, priority is given to areas such as new cities where alternative transportation such as buses or subways is insufficient and commuting is inconvenient. Areas where commuting demand concentrates during rush hours but where it is difficult to establish regular intercity bus routes are also major review targets.
Previously, the province selected five new routes in July through the Gyeonggi Preparation Committee based on departure and destination points proposed by residents and transportation demand during commuting hours.
