Osan City requested government support for budget required for projects including the reopening of Gajang-dong Western Road and the establishment of a Gyeongbu Railway crossing road.
Osan Mayor Jo Yong-ho met with Minister of Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-joong at the Government Seoul Building on the 22nd and requested 26.7 billion won in special local allocation tax to support the implementation of 15 regional priority projects in Osan City.
Mayor Jo stated at the meeting, "As the population is rapidly increasing due to urban development such as full-scale move-in to Segyeo 2 District, there is an urgent need to establish various SOC infrastructure including roads and neighborhood facilities and to fill standard personnel positions. Support from the Ministry of Interior and Safety is essential," emphasizing his point.
In response, Minister Yoon Ho-joong said, "I will carefully review the matters requested by Osan City and work together to find solutions."
During the meeting, Mayor Jo emphasized urgent priority issues with significant citizen inconvenience and demands, including the reopening of Gajang-dong Western Road (10 billion won), the establishment of a Gyeongbu Railway crossing road (10 billion won), and the opening of an access road to the North Osan IC of the Seoul Metropolitan Area Outer Ring Expressway (800 million won).
In the disaster and safety sector, he emphasized the need to prevent flooding damage and strengthen the disaster information delivery system through project funding support for replacing aging pumps at the Sinjang rainwater drainage pump station, installing emergency information display boards, and installing CCTV for crime prevention.
Additionally, he requested project funding support for facility improvement projects closely related to residents' daily life, including the opening of Segyo-dong urban planning roads, functional enhancement of the South Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, environmental improvement of Chopyeong Library, and children's playground maintenance projects.
