Regional College Admissions Information Centers Established in 25 Education Offices…Customized University Admission Counseling to Be Provided

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education (Superintendent Ahn Min-seok) will operate "Regional College Admissions Information Centers" in all 25 education support offices ahead of the full implementation of the high school credit system and the 2028 college admissions system reform.
This measure is designed to respond to the rapidly increasing demand for customized counseling from students and parents amid changing college admissions environments such as GPA-based relative evaluation at the 5-grade level and integrated college entrance examinations, and to reduce gaps in college admissions information and counseling opportunities between regions and schools.
Kim Young-sook, Director of Secondary Education at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "With the expansion of regional college admissions information centers, all students will be able to receive high-quality customized admissions counseling in their local areas. Through close collaboration with local governments, we will successfully establish a region-tailored college admissions support ecosystem in public education and enhance public education's credibility."
The Provincial Office of Education has established the "2027 Gyeonggi College Admissions Information Center Expansion Plan" and is proceeding with the establishment of a public education-centered counseling system.
To supplement the geographical limitations of the existing Gyeonggi College Admissions Information Centers (Suwon, Uijeongbu) and improve counseling accessibility for remote regions, regional college admissions information centers tailored to each of the 25 education support offices' local conditions will be built.
At the regional college admissions information centers, one-on-one customized university admissions counseling will be provided in both in-person and non-face-to-face formats during after-school hours and on weekends to expand counseling opportunities for students and parents. Additionally, "Integrated College Admissions Expos" will be operated in collaboration with local governments during periods for regular admissions selection and high school curriculum choices.
The number of "College Admissions Guidance Leader Teachers" who are well-versed in the curriculum structure of local high schools and regional characteristics will be expanded to 2,000 to establish a public education-centered counseling system.
As the overall center, the Gyeonggi College Admissions Information Center will support and consult with the 25 regional college admissions information centers, and will develop and distribute "Gyeonggi-style College Admissions Materials" based on analysis of college admissions systems and regional counseling results.
