Hyodong Elementary School in Suwon Holds Smoking Prevention Experience Booth

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Hyodong Elementary School (Principal Kim Dong-bok) in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Suwon, opened a smoking prevention experience booth on the 11th at the traditional playground within the school.

A smoking cessation specialist conducted various hands-on activities for all students at the school. The activities included a lung capacity competition game, a smoking prevention fishing game, a no-smoking scratch book activity, and a lucky bamboo craft for smoking cessation.

Lee, a sixth grader, pledged, "I will never smoke cigarettes even when I grow up." Park, a student from the same grade, shared his thoughts, saying, "I learned how harmful smoking is."

Principal Kim Dong-bok said, "Rather than simply learning about the harmfulness of smoking while sitting at a desk, practical hands-on experience seems to be more effective."
