Yangju City to Install CCTV at 13 School Routes to Reduce Blind Spots on Students' Commutes

Yangju City will install security CCTVs on school routes near elementary schools within child protection zones.
As part of the 'Safe School Route Development Project,' the city will invest 200 million won to newly install or reinforce existing CCTV facilities at 13 locations.
Four new installation sites include the rear entrance of Samsang Elementary School, a three-way intersection near Deokjeong Elementary School, a pedestrian path behind Goam Elementary School's rear entrance, and the area in front of the underpass at the rear entrance of Hyochon Elementary School.
Additionally, the city will reinforce existing CCTV facilities at nine locations, including in front of the main entrance of Yuljeong Elementary School and in front of the rear entrance of Olgbbit Elementary School. The city plans to complete CCTV installation and reinforcement by November and operate them in coordination with the integrated control center.
In particular, through continuous monitoring including school commute hours, the city will establish an enhanced safety management system to identify dangerous situations around schools early and respond swiftly to crimes and various safety accidents.
An official from Yangju City stated, "Through this project, we will reduce security blind spots around schools and create an environment where children can commute to school with peace of mind."
