Thousands of Drones Take Flight at Gwanggyo Lake Park on 9th…Fireworks Show and Busking Performances
Suwon Metropolitan City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) will hold the 'Suwon Drone & Fireworks Festival' from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 9th at Gwanggyo Lake Park.
The festival, themed "Suwon's Night Blooms in Light," will express Suwon's past, present, and future through drones and fireworks, commemorating the 230th anniversary of the construction of Suwon Fortress (Hwaseong).
Notably, this year the number of drones in operation has been increased to 1,000, enhancing the composition and expressiveness of the drone show. Following the drone show, a fireworks display will illuminate the night sky over Gwanggyo Lake Park. The drone and fireworks show can be watched live on Suwon City's official YouTube channel.
Prior to the main event, busking performances will take place starting at 7:30 p.m. The program begins with a performance by 'Band Bucket List,' a Samsung Electronics employee band, followed by performances by singer Ryu Hyun-sang and 'The Ryu & Jeon Young-rang,' who blend traditional Korean music with contemporary music.
Admission tickets for the event will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2 p.m. on the day of the festival in the lobby hall on the first floor of Suwon Convention Center.
Suwon City plans to strengthen nighttime tourism content in Suwon and activate extended-stay tourism through this festival, which utilizes the waterfront space and night scenery of Gwanggyo Lake Park.
A Suwon City official stated, "In preparation for the 2026-2027 Year of Visiting Suwon, we have composed a more diverse program," and added, "We hope many citizens and tourists will visit Gwanggyo Lake Park and enjoy Suwon's beautiful autumn evening together."
