Gwangmyeong City Exchanges Ideas on Youth Spaces and Career Paths with 100 Young People

Mayor Park Seung-won of Gwangmyeong City engaged in dialogue with approximately 100 youth participants at the 'Youth Dialogue Visit' held at Gwangmyeong Youth Training Center on the 7th, discussing the creation of leisure and cultural spaces and career support measures.
The participating youth freely expressed needs they had considered essential, including the creation of dedicated sports facilities and cultural spaces, and support for specialized field education.
In response to a proposal for creating youth-exclusive sports facilities, Mayor Park stated, "We are promoting the construction of the 'Gwangmyeong City Youth Sports Center' with a target completion date of 2031 in the area surrounding Dungji Children's Park in Gwangmyeong District 7."
A request also emerged for the creation of a dedicated cultural space in Soha-dong where young people can freely gather, converse, and enjoy leisure activities.
In response, Mayor Park said, "We are promoting the construction of the 'Gwangmyeong City Youth Culture Complex Center' with a target completion date of 2032 in the Gureumsan District area."
Requests continued for expanded educational opportunities and practical training in specialized fields such as video, music, design, and programming.
Mayor Park stated, "I hope young people will actively utilize the various programs and facilities of the Youth Arts Creation Center, Youth Media Center, and Digital Innovation Education Center," adding, "We will expand expert mentoring and practical training opportunities to support youth career exploration and capacity building."
This forum, organized by the Gwangmyeong City Youth Foundation, was arranged following a request for 'the creation of spaces for youth to enjoy' raised at a 2026 Citizens' Dialogue session in the Gwangmyeong District 7 area.
