On the 27th, at the '2026 Social Welfare Skills Competition' held at Noblesse Wedding Convention in Suwon City, the outline of a comprehensive plan for improving treatment of social welfare workers emerged.
The 19 treatment improvement tasks compiled by synthesizing opinions from social welfare workers and related organizations have been established based on three core principles: ▲work-life balance ▲projects that reflect on-site needs ▲responsible implementation according to priorities.
Key tasks include ▲introduction of Saebit Welfare Points ▲improvement of overtime allowance operation method ▲hazard pay for disability welfare facilities ▲funeral supplies support ▲introduction of paid parental leave by agreement ▲introduction of birthday leave ▲installation of facility protective equipment, and others.
The event, held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Suwon Social Workers Association, was attended by approximately 250 social welfare workers, Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-jun, and Suwon Special City Council Speaker Kim Mi-kyung.
At the event, Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "Social welfare workers are precious people who become a safety net in our citizens' daily lives," and added, "We were able to complete Suwon Saebit Care thanks to you all." He continued, "I promise to repay your dedication by creating better working environments and workplaces where you are respected."
